We're looking for an innovative Data Scientist / AI Expert to join our dynamic team at Hula Earth starting October 1st. You'll be at the forefront of developing our core product: the comprehensive data layer for nature investments. Your role will encompass:

  1. Analyzing earth observation data, primarily satellite imagery, to extract valuable environmental insights.
  2. Processing and interpreting bioacoustic data, working closely with our hardware team to optimize data collection and analysis.
  3. Developing new and enhanced biodiversity indicators from diverse, accessible data sources, staying abreast of the latest scientific and policy developments.
  4. Shaping our data and AI strategy, with the freedom to explore and implement your own innovative ideas.

You'll collaborate closely with our CTO and hardware expert to create innovative solutions for biodiversity monitoring and sustainable investments. This role offers a unique opportunity to apply your expertise in data science to make a tangible impact on the path towards nature positivity.

✅ Key Responsibilities

  1. Satellite Image Analysis: Develop and implement algorithms to extract meaningful insights from satellite imagery for biodiversity and environmental monitoring.
  2. Bioacoustics Processing: Work closely with the hardware team to develop AI models for analyzing and interpreting bioacoustic data collected from our IoT devices.
  3. Biodiversity Indicator Development: Create innovative AI models to derive biodiversity indicators from various data sources, staying at the forefront of current scientific and policy developments.
  4. Machine Learning Model Development: Design, train, and optimize machine learning models for various environmental applications, including species identification, habitat classification, and ecosystem health assessment.
  5. Data Integration: Develop methods to integrate diverse data sources, including satellite imagery, IoT sensor data, and external datasets, to create comprehensive environmental insights.
  6. AI Strategy: Contribute to shaping Hula Earth's overall AI and data science strategy, identifying new opportunities for leveraging AI in biodiversity conservation and sustainable investments.
